Time Travel Tours has created a video to explain our program to museums and historical societies. The video is slightly less than four minutes long and explains how the game app can benefit museums and historical socieities.
Time Travel Tours is such a perfect fit for a museum because it creates interest in local history, promotes local museums or historical societies, and raises funds for them.
Time Travel Tours is like a Local History Book in a Fun Game. The game screens show photos and descriptions of historic places, people and events, which the museum or historical society supplies. Pressing the + MORE INFO button pauses the game, and brings up a longer description. The player can learn about what they are seeing, at their own pace, before resuming play. This makes it a perfect teaching tool for schools to educate their students about the history of their area.
In addition to teaching local history, Time Travel Tours can Attract New Visitors to museums, both virtually and physically. The museum or organization is featured on the Version and Museum Screen every time someone plays their version.
There is a slide show and description of the museum, and a summary of the area’s history. Slides and wording can be instantly changed, so new exhibits or museum promotions can be displayed at any time.
As descriptions are written, it can be mentioned how that particular photo ties into the museum, which can attract visitors. It’s really a powerful way to let people know about what they can see if they visit the museum.
The game can raise money for a museum, every year, by having a business, organization, or individual sponsor their version. The Sponsor screen is shown every time someone plays. We provide materials that will help find a sponsor. We will create the game version for the museum or historical society even before a sponsor is found. So, you never have an out of pocket expense.
If no sponsor is found, there is no cost to the museum and the version will still be on the app.
In addition to one major sponsor, there are other fund raising opportunities built into the game.
Once the version is live, if the organization has difficulty finding a sponsor, we will attempt to help find one so that the game can generate some kind of funding for the museum or society, and us.
